This course is ideal for qualified Occupational First Aid responders, who are due to refresh their skills. These skills must be refreshed every 2 years and within 3 months of expiry date, or else the full 3 day course will have to be undertaken.
Taking only one day it is basically a trimmed down version of the Occupational First Aid course, and is designed to refresh all the skills learned in the original HSA and FETAC approved course.
Provides students with ability to recognize and treat the following:
Cardiac Arrest
Use of AED/Defibrillator
Patient assessment
Respiratory Emergencies
Epilepsy
Wounds and Bleeding
Altered level of consciousness
Musculo-skeletal injuries
Burns, scalds and electric shock
Please note this course, must be taken as a refresher course to a 3 day OFA course to fulfill the criteria of the Health and Safety Authority and FETAC for Occupational First Aid. Please see below:
Successful students will receive a certificate from Skillshop to certify successful completion of 2 yearly refresher training as FETAC does not issue refresher certificates.
